Mukteshwar-

Hello friends, I am your friend Raahi and today we are going to explore a very less known heaven of Uttarakhand. This place is not marketised as other places in Uttarakhand but this place really full of beauty and priceless environment of this place. People who are search for Nature, Adventure Games, Road adventure, Wildlife, Meditation, Peace, Devotion or a perfect picnic place for your family and also young couples, this is the place that they are looking for.

This place is situated in Nainital district of Uttarakhand. It is around 350 KM from both NEW DELHI and DEHRADUN. The route is quite awesome and smooth. People from outside uttarakhand can come to Haldwani Railway Station by Train which is the last station stop in the Kumaun region of Uttarakhand.  From Haldwani the route is by buses or taxi direct to Mukteshwar town. Mukteshwar is around 65 Km from Haldwani, due to Shivalik Himalayan terrain, this took around 2Hrs to reach Mukteshwar.

After reaching Mukteshwar, it’s your choice and desire how to go ahead in this beautiful place. You can get lots of local taxi and local tourist guide and very affordable prices or if you love to explore the place you can go own your own to the hills.  In the lower side of the hill there are so many villages. People here are very simple living and self-reliance. Most of them do Agricultural or animal farming. This place is full of Natural Herbals and old aayurvedik medicines. Local peoples hardly visits any doctors. They make their illness cure by the natural ingredients available there. Mukteshwar is also known for the great fruit and fresh vegetable market for kumaun Region. Fruits like Apple, Nashpati, Orange, peach, plum, amla are very common everywhere here. And aayurvedik plants like-

In the jungle you will find plants with fragrance I don’t know the common name of the tree but its local name is Sanyo and and also a very cool plant locally called timmar is like menthol plant, if you apply it on your body surface it give coolness and also it is used for treatment of teeth and gums.

When you will reach the place I think there hardly any place which less the best. Every walking route, different types of trees and views every time make you fall in love with this place. Most famous points here are

Mukteshwar Temple:

The residing deity of Mukteshwar Temple is Lord Shiva. This sacred shrine holds immense importance amongst the people of Uttarakhand state. Mukteshwar temple is situated atop a hill from where vistas of nature are captivating. The Shivling is surrounded by idols of Brahma, Vishnu, Parvati, Hanuman, Ganesh and nandi. Mukteshwar temple is situated at an astounding elevation of 2,312mts above sea level. Chauli Ki Jali is situated near this temple. The trek to Mukteshwar temple is a memorable experience and those who look for heavenly feelings can devote themselves to the blessings of Mukteshwar.

The View Of Himalayas:

Magnificent view of Himalaya is a great tourist attraction inMukteshwar as it affords a magical view of the Himalayas.

Renewable Park:

There is also a 'Renewable Park' managed by The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI). Recently, the town is flooded with some construction activity in and around Mukteshwar. Tourist are also buying houses here to escape cities hustle bustle.

Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI):

A British legacy, Indian Veterinary Institute is one of the leading advanced research facilities engaging in live stock research and is dedicated to the development of the region. It was established at the Imperial Bacteriological Laboratory in 1889 at Pune on the recommendation of the Cattle Plague Commission, and was later relocated to Mukteshwar in 1893. Further, it was developed into the Indian Veterinary research Institute. There is a library and museum as well inside the institute campus.

Mukteshwar Inspection Bungalow:

The PWD inspection Bungalow in Mukteshwar is an architectural wonder. It is situated close to the Mukteshwar temple and is a landmark in the town. The bungalow has lush green surroundings and beautiful views which makes it a must-see in the hill station. In fact, it is the perfect place to stay in Mukteshwar if you are halting for a couple of days. Blessed with amazing natural beauty and beautiful architecture, the bungalow has a unique charm.

Chauli Ki Jaali:

Chauli ki Jaali was originally known as Chauthi Jaali. It is a mesmerizing place situated on the cliff behind the Mukteshwar temple. Leaning on the edge of the cliff you can have invigorating and panoramic views of splendid Himalayan range and enchanting valley of Kumaon region. There is a natural lattice around the rock here and it is believed that barren women who take their head out of the hole in the rock are blessed with a baby.

According to myths a group of devotees were on their visit to Kailash Mansarovar and at this dangerous rock climbing point they prayed Lord Shiva to help them. Lord Shiva blessed the guru with power and asked him to hit the rock four times. A hole appeared on the hard rock surface when the guru hit it the fourth time.

Methodist Church:

Just before you hit Chowfulli on the way up, a black metal strip on a tree points out the way to the Methodist Church. The narrow path has been cut in rock and polished smooth over the years by passing hooves and feet, so watch your step. The church is homely, in keeping with the town it was built for. Its walls and tin roof are well preserved. The steeple has a bell presented by a certain Barbara, in memory of her parents, on Christmas Day.

The only way to find out what treasures lie concealed behind the churchs low wooden door is to come between 3 and 4 pm on a Sunday. At other times, you will find it locked.

Bhalu gaad- Bhalu gaad is also a very famous pont here. In kumauni languange bhalu means good and gaad means river. It is situated in the mid of the forest , you have to trek 2 Km to reach here. After reaching here you will see a 60 meter waterfall and you can enjoy a cold water bath here.

Here I am sharing some photos of Mukteshwar, but remember this , these photos are just 1% of the actual beauty of the place. Every place you stop and look around is iconic and full of nature. Most of the times you will find winter here because of the height of the place which is 2171 meters. Every time when you see clouds here they are like in your hands, many times you will see clouds below your height at that time this place is nothing less than the thought of your feel like flying.   Temperature range over this place over year is -5 degree to +28 degree.

A number of guest houses are there, both government owned and private in a very affordable Price.

Thank you for visiting here.

❤️This is my personal favorite❤️.
